Congratulations to Master Chranj Dingi—Promoted to 5th Dan!

We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news from the Tang Soo Do community: our own instructor Master Chranj Dingi has earned his 5th Dan after completing an intense grading held last weekend (20 July 2025).

The examination tested every facet of advanced Tang Soo Do practice—from precision basics to free sparring—yet the highlight came during the forms segment. Master Chranj breezed through a full catalogue of hyung, then moved straight into the weapons portion, where he executed three separate sword forms with razor-sharp accuracy and fluid control. Observers described each cut, slice, and transition as “impeccable,” embodying both technical mastery and the calm focus that defines a seasoned martial artist.

Anyone who trains under Master Chranj already knows his trademark blend of crisp technique and encouraging instruction. Now his new rank recognises what we see on the mats every week: a practitioner committed to continuous improvement and a teacher who pushes students to reach their own next level.

“Our lead instructor, Master Mashinchi, put it best: ‘Training with Master Dingri is a privilege. He sets the bar high and challenges every one of us to reach it.’”

Please join us in offering a big Tang Soo salute and a round of applause the next time you see him in class. His achievement is an inspiration—and a reminder that diligent practice, humility, and perseverance truly pay off.

Congratulations to Chranj on his grading on Sunday.
